    Hey guys, im getting really tired of the Tacoma. The truck just will NOT STOP when i need it to. I am paranoid that i would hit the guy in front of me everytime i get behind the wheel of my tacoma....

    It is bothering me so much im consider getting rid of it, but before i do that. Anyone have some advice on how i can improve the braking on the tacoma?

    Currently have 7k miles, running on stock pads and rotors.

    these trucks stop on a dime in stock form. at 7k miles, take it to the dealer, because something is wrong, and they need to fix it under warranty.

    Homebrew bumpers and sliders, 5100s & Eibachs up front and mutt leaf pack out back, 285s & Wheelers type B, sway bar deleted. Wife's ride: 01 4Runner 4wd sport. Stock with exception of TRD taco coils, and shift kit.
    How often do you do yours? I've heard of plenty people getting 200k+ out of one. I'm probably going to run mine till at least 150k or so and then change. I take it you can take the cover off the front of the engine and inspect it pretty easily?

    Take it back to the dealer and ask them what is wrong with it? [​IMG]

    I typicalyl speed 10mph over the posted limit, but TBH that shouldnt affect the braking this dramtically.

    I have always babied the truck ever since i bought it, but the past week or 2. I been driving it harder and faster. Because i have to get to work in the morning, so speeding is like a MUST lol.

    I dont think anything is wrong with the truck, my gut feeling is telling me that is just how the tacoma performs.
    Howeer i have not driven another tacoma other than my own, so i cant realyl compare.

    Leave earlier and stop putting others at risk with your stupid decisions? Seriously, how old are you? Speeding only saves a few minutes on a typical trip. You're risking your and everyone's safety around you because you can't plan ahead and leave in a reasonable time.

    As has been stated, these trucks stop fine in stock form. Either something is wrong or or it's your driving. Could be both.

    with the ABS off, i can lock up all 4 tires on mine. 35'' tires, not stock ones. hell, i even drove around with 3 brakes and a lot of air in the lines after an off road mishap and it stopped fine. either something is wrong with your truck, you are exagerating the severity of the issue, or you need to be driving a sports car.
