Even if they did they aren't in here saying their brakes suck.. They obviously aren't driving too close to the person in front of them

Hell no. If he's not responsible enough to handle a Tacoma he doesn't need anything faster than an echo. Hell, I'll buy him some concrete blocks to drag behind him so it'll stop faster.

Well FYI, I have to be at work before 7am, i get there at 6:30. So i do plan and leave earlier. Im just saying there are occassions where u need to speed up for say to pass a freaking semi truck that is throwing rocks at your face. And for whatever reason someone cuts u and i cant stop on time and hit that person who just cut me.

As stated i have not driven another tacoma except mine, so how am i suppose to know if the truck is actually performing like it should.

Also just for the record, i work at a dealership. Well aware how the technicans do their job at the back, so i most likely will know their answer to my question without even asking them.

Now if u can swear on your mothers grave that you have NEVER speed in your lifetime, please speak up now.

Nobody claimed to have never sped on their life... But we aren't saying we typically speed 10 over (but now you're saying it's just to pass semi's ;) ) or that "speeding is a MUST lol"

the tacomas stop very well (IIRC somebody posted specs and from 60-0 they were almost as fast as a civic), and my stock brakes worked great getting me quickly from 80-5 on the freeway the other day.

I'm well aware of how and why ABS works. Threshold breaking is the quickest way to stop and maintain control, as you are utilizing the maximum static frictional force betweent he tires and road, before locking the tires up and haveing the much lower kenetic friction force slow you down. My comment about being able to lock up the tires was not in regards to stopping fast, but rather to acknowledging the power that stock brakes have the potential to apply. when threshold braking, you are nearing the maximum static friction force, however you will not actually reach that force until the moment just before locking up the tires. so while keeping the tires locked up doesn't take as much force from the brakes, getting them to lock up does.

    Backpedal much?

I should have figured you'd know the answer so why did you even ask here? Obviously you know more then everyone here.

My mother's grave? Seriously how old are you?

I was just trying to be honest about the issue i am experiencing.
But majority of the time when i say it is not stopping when i needed to.
    Im going probably 40-50.

Great example would be im driving down the road, light was green, then it turned red on me, and i wouldnt be able to stop on time.
And the speed limit on that road is like 55. I was going 50

Nope i do not know the answer, that is why i brought it up. To see if it is just me or if it applies to all the tacomas out there.

I honestly dont understand how a brake question turn everyone into attacking me rather then helping me figure out the problem.

You have a problem is you can't brake in that distance (Unless you're a complete idiot and think that if you're at the line and it turns yellow you have to stop)

Your problem is you drive to fast, bragged about it, and wonder why your truck doesn't stop like a sports car. :smack:
