Just out of curiosity, what does this technician do, where do they do it, what is the starting pay, and what kind of background are you looking for?

If you have worked as an analyzer tech and know what an optichrom gc is, you are qualified enough. I can let you know what the next pre testing date is if you'd like.

I think San Jac and Lee College have analyzer programs...

 

Works on process analyzers and sample systems. Like a blend between instrument tech and lab tech. The analyzers can be pretty complex in our case - a lot of gas chromatography.

Background needs to be industry experience plus analyzer knowledge demonstrated in some way. Not sure what they start at, but I'd bet it's around 70+ and they can get the highest grade quickly, I think within a year.

Interesting..... I use a GC on a daily basis at work now and calibrate it monthly or so. I do the same with auto titration, light spectrometer, and water/oil analytics machines. They're not terribly complex after looking inside. Not currently in the market for a new job, but wouldn't rule it out in the future. Where is the job based out of?
