    Virtually all the tires on Boeing 747's are retreads. There is no way the FAA would allow retreads to be used if they weren't proven to be safe.

    I'm curious of the difference in method and technology used in the retreading of tires for a jet airliner and tires for a passenger vehicle.

    jonathan, what axle rating, hub pattern, and brake setup did you go with?

    build-it-yourself trailer parts are actualyl pretty cheap. i built the axle for my trailer (without brakes) for about $150
