Not per-say. But they do have positions for heavy equipment mechanics. I can't think of a job which would strictly be for welders...

Besides do you really want to be in the military under the current leadership? I'd recommend you steer clear.

Stick to what you are doing now and eventually work in the oil industry! A LOT MORE $$$$$.

 

What you mean another job? I haven't had a paycheck since Feb

 

You could always join the guard and still work a welding job. And have both worlds. Food for thought

 

As somebody who has walked the path you're about to take there's one piece of advice I would like to give...

First and foremost, decide what MOS (career) you want to do in the military, and under no circumstance let the recruiter talk you out of it.

Most recruiters are excellent salesmen (obviously) and will get you to sign up for a job you don't want to do, all the while making you think it's exactly what you want.

 

Dude, I've seen the "action" over there. You don't want any fucking part of it. There's nothing glamorous or awesome about it.
