Singlecabguy---As a former Marine in a grunt unit, do what drives you. If combat is what you seek then do it. One of the worst things you encounter as you grow older is regrets. There are those people that wish they had done something and those that can say they have done it. With that being said, be sure you know what you are getting into. In America, violence and war has been glorified so much that young people are influenced to think that it the ultimate sacrifice they can do for their country. Just take in mind that the politicians decide what war zone you are deployed to and not you. So there could be a legitimate noble reason why you go blasting somewhere and then there may be war zones that are purely political. The latter will give you regrets that last a lifetime.
