I will vouch for the fun of the TDIs. Wifey's car is a Jetta TDI. After we bought that thing, I spent 3 months looking to see if I could get something TDI like in an SUV/truck from less then 50k, never found it, bought Taco....

 

Please tell my you've chipped it. It's amazing what the Rocketchip flash can do for those engines. 50hp and 100ft-lbs from a flash is amazing!

I had two VW TDIs before getting my Tacoma. Stock 90 hp, but they were both chipped and fun to drive. Can't beat 45 mpg, but wouldn't trade my tacoma to have them back, that's for sure.
