So a studio apartment within walking distance of my job is gonna be around $1200-1300.. or I can pay $400 a month for parking plus gas..

 

and what rent?

So it comes out about the same? I'd walk, bicycle. Park the truck and use on days off

 

Pretty much, probably more with having to deal with city traffic. I get a parking spot at either one but parking at my work would be the $400. I'll probably just go to the one thats within walking distance. I get a $2000 signing bonus so that will pay 1 months rent and then I'll just have to pay for 2 more months out of my pay.

Yeah, then I can say I put less miles on my truck per year and hopefully insurance would go down

 

and you will have less miles on your truck so higher resale / longer lasting. I ride my bike to work a lot. before the Tacoma I had a Dakota that I sold with less than 60k miles at 9 yrs old

Nice. Yeah if anything, if I get the permanent job, I'd just buy a motorcycle. But the apartment I'm looking at, the strip district (all the food and local shops) is 15 minutes by bike one way, and downtown (work, restaurants, bars) is 5 minutes by bike the other way lol

 

Sounds pretty convenient, crawling distance to the bars and all lol

Hey I'll be in Longview this weekend also but I doubt I'll be going to gilmer. Have a Bday party to attend but if yall want some good mexican food go try out my family's place in Longview Little Mexico I will meet yall there if I can.

Hell I just might, would be a quick stop and go situation but be close enough to introduce my self since I havent made it to one of yalls meet in Houston. I'll be like 30 min away
