Pioneer 4000NEX, nothing wrong with the old one (Pioneer 4300DVD), just no bluetooth, no integration, except USB music, with phones, and too many add on boxes that need to be cleaned up, or removed (HD-radio, parking brake bypass, steering wheel controls adapter).

I've been waiting for Pionner to release the CarPlay firmware for the NEX line before I bought it. Only took them 6 months.

Might be, need to get new one installed and make sure it works how I want, then need to see if #1 son wants it. Doubt he does, as he wants more of what I buying then what I'm selling. I'll check if your vulture-azz is still interested if I decide to sell.

More then likely it would go with the HU, steering wheel control adapter, parking brake bypass and HD-Radio box. It would still need a dash adapter and wiring harness adapter.

I installed the bypass on my hu, pretty simple now

Found my sliders. They're at the wrong Fastenal location. Now I have to pick them up today if I want to mount them this weekend. Otherwise, they'll ship them back out on Monday.

 

That's Fastenal for you. Are you welding or bolting the sliders on?

 

Bolt on. I know that welded can strengthen the frame, and are stronger. But with how many issues I've seen about rusting frames, I decided to go with bolt. I also don't wheel hard enough to need a weld on

 

Mine are bolted on and do just fine. Don't worry about that.

You'll have fun drilling the frame though. I suggest you head over to Empire tools and buy at least two high speed metal drill bits in the size you need. The stanley bits from Home Depot won't cut it.

You'll quickly find out that drilling the holes in the bottom of the frame rail is a tall task since you can't get any leverage on the drill. This is what I did.



That is unless you have access to a mag drill.

 

The ones I have are pure bolt on, no drilling.

 

I didn't think there were enough holes to bolt on sufficiently.

 

Looked at them, looks like no mounting from the bottom of the frame?
