Idk.. I think it needs to overlap more. Better than any weld I can do though

I took a one on one class with a local fabricator and then started practicing a lot.

That's possible Red. I did have a large radius on the lower piece though. Lots of heat on both sides. I'll let you know if it falls off.

 

It does. The weave isn't tight enough. Asethtically pretty. Structurally could be better.

Well in that case. If your weld looks like a bunch of tack welds, your weave is too loose. While it looks beautiful. Structurally, the tighter the weave= the stronger. There's a reason no pipeline or pressure vessel welds look that loose.

Kinda like interlocking your hands. If you just got em locked around the tips, its not that hard to just tear em apart as opposed to if you have em locked all the way up your knuckles.

 

Just get on this level

 

I got this far. Haven't done much tig on pipe but trying to get a job that will let me get better at it.
