I was going to leave out the location to see if you'd call it right. I'm going down there to watch them set the module on the deck.

you probably aren't allowed to say, but what rig is it going on? we just had a platform sail out a couple of weeks ago, and have another one soon to leave. i think there are 2 more in progress that still have a ways to go.

you know how many cranes they are using to lift it? without knowing specs, that looks like a 6ish lift. just behind it, you can see the anchor points, and cable drums for out heavy lifting device. that thing is impressive

I'm not under any orders to not talk about it. The client is LLOG and the platform is MC254A. The sister platform is Who-Dat. I can't remember the name for mine off the top of my head. I'll post pictures of the partial topsides tomorrow when I get to the office.

My module is designed for a single crane lift, but as you know they use multiple crawlers. It really sketches me out since the yard does their own lift analysis. They built my module upside down and flipped the damn thing. Once the yard starts changing stuff like that I was my hands of it. If it fails when you flip it, it's not on me.

If we had known in the beginning that multiple crawlers were going to be used we would have designed the lift differently. I designed it for a single point offshore lift. Oh well. I can't wait to get down to the yard and see it in person.

i wouldn't worry about it. the crane engineers down there are rockstars. they preplan every inch that each crane moves, and in what order. can't remember the exact number, but the most they ever used was in the 12-14 crane range i believe. if you get to see the lift, you'll have a blast. it's like a mixture of heavy machinery and ballet.
