Just got the official email :woot: Once I get out to the site in Maryland, I will be switching job positions to a Structures Engineer. Never done pure structures work, but there shouldn't be too much of a learning curve to get up to speed. plus, a new job title means another bullet point on the resume :D

    Howdy

allows for the hanging of larger truck nuts...

how's the weight distribution (front to back) on that thing with the go-pro? have you counterballanced with other electronics/batteries, or do the front motors just work a little harder?

Grats... although if I'm still in houston when you leave for Maryland, I'll be angry... if I'm in Oregon, then god speed... There are many things I miss about living in MD... taxes definitely weren't one of them...

The quad is balanced front to back and moving the arms into a traditional X config (which is possible and easy to do) requires re-balancing the aircraft. If you don't rebalance it however, the flight characteristics aren't to different to the guy on the ground.

i'm going to run a comparison of VA to MD as far as living costs go (vehicle registration, etc.) if VA is cheaper, i'll just have my parent's place listed as my perminate address, even though i'm living in MD. good news is that, in addiaion to the signifficant job-site bump, they adjust our pay to account for higher taxes, as compared to where the location of your home office is.

no video of it... this is a test platform which means I'm more concerned with flight characteristics and gain tuning than I am video at this point...

i feel like it would be a good investment. its 4x4 and alot of room. also 70k less miles than my taco and has pretty much all the features i want so the only thing left to mod would be head unit with nav/backup/bluetooth. just not sure if i can justify having a car payment while going back to school.

Pro's: More room (oldest of 4 and i hauls everybody), 4x4, leather, 5.7L, probably not much change of MPG from my taco(16..ish), rock warrior package.

con's: car note, sentimental attachment to the taco, insurance might go up?, harder to park,

 probably true although i've seen alot of "i had a taco traded for a tundy but now in a taco again because it was to difficult to park" on TW. i have had first hand experience with a tundy as my dad has one and it can be harder but its about the same as parkin the taco. the only difference is i have more confidence in the taco parking because its not as wide
