Second day on my new job I was doing a ride along with patrol to get a feel for the local crime 'hotspots' and where the frequent offenders stay. We take a call for a double drowning: twin 15 month old girls in a bathtub. We're first on scene. The officer does CPR on one girl and I do CPR on the other before EMS arrive. One girl dies, one girl is on life support. I've had CPR training here and there but have never had to use it, let alone on a 15 month old. Gave my kids an extra big hug this evening.

    Fuck…:(

Where were the parents? What's sad is that drowning is preventable. One of my worst fears is that one of my employees (200 lifeguards) doesn't catch someone drowning and a life is lost. Heart attack. Stroke. Can't prevent those, but drowning, if you're watching non-swimmers, you can prevent that.

Hopefully that isn't a sign of how your new job will be. Hang in there.

Bit of a stretch but if anyone has any leads on a tig welding Job in the houston-katy area, I'd be so grateful. IDC if its welding stainless steel appliances. Just need to get my foot in the door in the tig welding field as soon as I can.
