    Had those in some of my BMWs. They are flimsy...

    However in my Z4 they worked like a boss while lapping at GSS

    These are actually rather sturdy. Barely any up and down movement at all. They're just annoying as fuck to the passenger because they hang over their legs and then all the condensation in the glass drips on them.

    I agree. That's why there is a heated and or cooled one in the center console on most models.

    As soon as a knee hit the passengerside cupholder it's broken. I replaced two of them in the Z4, one in the E92 coupe, and three in the E90. Plus the Z4 had a driverside one on the left of the steering wheel, replaced that once.
