    i'm trying to verify some information on it. TWIC is through the TSA, and supposedly, this card allows you to go in the employee line at airport security. one of the guys i work with is flying home for the weekend, and siad he is going to test the rumor out.

    little different than a building key card.

    i'm sure that's one of the uses. i was just told i was supposed to apply for one and do the background check/fingerprints deal for it. it's used in marine environments where non government sensitive information and/or potential terrorist targets exist.

    You have a TWIC card?

    It'll suffice as a identification card if the TSA agent knows what it is but that's it. No fringe benefits though.

    I suspect you have to possess one to enter any energy infrastructure facility like refineries, terminals, etc. Background check is for terror-related offenses or connections only. Criminal offenses, even murder, won't deny someone from possessing one though. Not really reassuring IMO lol
