Just messing with you. I give you chit, but I feel for you. Only good thing is that you're pretty much assured that it's going to be totaled and you can start over vs. farting around waiting for the next connection to corrode.

As for the trunk, do you have a wiring diagram? Might be able to figure out which wire feeds the lock and just apply 12v to it through a tap. Or can you go in by removing the back seat?

This. If the trunk is electronic, you should be able to override it. Most push buttons are just a simple switch, unless you are talking about the one on the fob.

 

Back seat? I was to cheap to afford the back seat. Only got the front seats lol
ill wait for the adjuster to come look at it before I do anything to the car. I'll get a jump box and short the switch after
