Man that bites, and here I am dreading a 6 day work week. You should work with petroleum, that's where the jobs are at.

I love working 6 days a week 12 hours a day. The paychecks are nice. 7 days a week sucks cause the paycheck is the same as 6 lol.
I'm happy working in powerplants and really do wanna make a career out of it. There's tons of room for advancement, the pay is great, they treat you like human beings rather than just a number, the experience is great, its something new every day, etc etc.

Just every job(outage/project/shutdown) requires being recommended in to get hired. And being new to this field yet and only having 2 shutdowns under my belt , I don't exactly have tons of connections yet to get jobs 24/7. This down time is just part of being new and is something everyone goes through. Im not just gonna give up on this tho cause times get hard. Gonna ride it out till I can stay busy or my full time job kicks off.

Half of em just draw unemployment and take vacation until the fall. The other half is a group from the same hometown that just work together. Its like in highschool again lol. In the last 2 shutdowns I've done, I've actually been the only one even from Texas that was working there.

Like I said. Its just gonna take time.

This is why^. Look into the ford or Chevy diesels. Way more reasonable than dodges used. People think dodges are worth their weight in gold.

Supply and demand. Everyone wants a Cummins so they're worth more. I'm not complaining. I bought mine for $26,500, drove it for almost a year and a half, put 20,000 miles in it, wrecked it to the point it had to have the frame straightened and all but two body panels replaced, and then sold it for $26,000.
