Wheels aren't needed. Save that money for a roof rack

 

Roof rack will be coming eventually. But not until Prinsu releases one for 5th gens. Wheels and tires first. Then sliders. Still need to pick up some Wet Okoles as well.

Whats wrong with the current wheels? Backspacing or looks?

 

Nothing's wrong with them. I've always liked the SR8s though and wanted to put them on the Tacoma. But I wasn't going to spend the money to put wheels on a vehicle I wheeled. The 4Runner won't be playing in the rocks so I don't have to worry about beating up nice wheels. Plus I already have someone that wants to buy the wheels. And possibly the tires too. The back spacing on the new wheels and increased width ought to widen the stance a bit as well which is a definite plus side.

 

Its getting closer to that time! First a garage to work on the truck with this rent house... Then a new daily at the end of this year... Then its solid axle time

5 stars look good, but I prefer a 6 spoke for a 6 lug

 

I like the five star a lot, but perhaps for the same reason I prefer the six spoke Countersteer. I'd love the 18" version but it wouldn't make sense for me. Not now anyway.

 

18's would be interesting for sure. I still prefer 15's and 16's in a truck, but of course newer tacos require at least a 16. I think 1st gens could even use a 14... I know the 5 lugs could

 

I think 16" is the minimum I like on a pick up period. Anything smaller and it just looks... Silly. Low riders and slammed trucks are an exception.
