No he said he hated his co-workers ergo...

My garage isn't clean/organized yet, but I do have a 2 car attached and a 2 car detached. However the driveway to the 2 car detached isn't built yet and it is blocked by a fence. It is good for storage though.

If you let the shop handle it the only thing you can get in your hand is a check for diminished value. I highly recommend you talk to their insurance adjuster about it. You are entitled to that in the state of Texas.

This dealership doesn't do that. I got my wagon back from them a few months ago, so speaking from personal experience.

    Yes!

You know how long it took to find the battery on my mom's BMW? I was all up under the hood looking for it. All I could find was a post for the + side. Couldn't even find the - post. Eventually figured it out though.

And if you have this turd it wants to be "told" it has a new battery. Of course BMW will do it for you...for a "small" fee.

The - post is an extra large nut on one of the strut towers most likely (not sure which model she has).

You don't have to register the battery. The charge rate is dependent on when it was registered, but it will work just fine without it on an E9X. The car will charge the battery at a higher rate due to the power module not being reset. Now on a 7 or most of the newer models I would register it, but that can be done through software like INPA or toolset32 by the owner.

I didn't register the battery in my moms E90 330i, that was in 2009. The car was traded in for an F30 last year with the very same battery I replaced without registration.

Yea it was on the news last month lol.

Correct, and I did not. Was out of town when the battery decided to take a shit but, was close to a BMW dealership so decided to swing in and ask. Was informed they wanted to test the battery (charge me for it), replace the battery (charge me for it) and register the battery (another charge)...total "estimate" for a battery R&R, $525. I told them to get bent and went to Autozone...$98 & 20 minutes later I was done. BMW, at this point, may never sell me another vehicle.

They don't call then stealerships for nothing lol.

I'm on BMW #10 myself. Currently have an E46 track car project and my old trusty E39 M5. Just traded my E46 wagon. I haven't had any truly bad experiences with any of them. I guess it helps that I know a few people who are Master Techs and are now Independent Shop owners when I can't do the work myself. I think my mom had about the same amount and I have been maintaining her cars since I was a teen. Now I'm old and learning about Mercedes...next stop is Porsche. Probably an old cheap 996 C2.
