I'd say the used diesel option is probably the way to go, and the new reality of the diesel glut means it should be cheaper than gas too...

What's the magical answer in your opinion then? I don't want used because I like having a low mileage truck that I know what's been done to it. Like my yota. It had 2,000 miles when I got it.

And used diesels cost the same as new ones anyway.

I'd like something around the $35-$40k mark and put about $10k down.

Really im just asking the diesel owners on here who have had em for the long haul if its worth it or if gas is a good option.
Since we have people on here who have had tundras, diesels and etc.

A used, low mile, pre-emissions diesel is the answer.

Idk why you thought I wouldn't like that answer. Lol its a good option for sure. Or even get one with emissions and delete all that junk off it.

I don't see why you even ask for opinions when you don't want used diesels or new tundras and ford's not even an option. Obviously youre going to do whatever you wanna do. Today it's this, tomorrow it's that.

Why no ford?? This one has a 7.3 and that's one of the better motors IIRC it's the 6.0 that's problematic

Get the tundra unless your welding machine will be in your bed 24/7 .. then get a cummins. Fuck the chevy. I don't think you will tow enough to justify a diesel really, and when you do tow with the tundra .. you will only lose 2 mpg from the 12 mpg it gets .. lol

That is a good low mileage truck that looks extremely clean on the inside. I can only imagine that if the owner took that much care of the interior, that the maintenance must have been meticulously recorded.

Because I own a ford. I can pick if I want a certain brand or not. Dodge, Chevy, Toyota.. Fine. Just don't want a ford
Lol I don't see why you think its wrong for me to decide if I want a certain brand or not. You paying for it?

Obviously I'm asking opinions about the gas vs diesel and price. If I don't want a Ford, that's my choice. Obviously there's a lot more options than just a ford soooo...
I know @Balockay had a tundra and cummins. Waiting for his input.
