That's AFTER the wedding. You need to get to your wifey class now before you start making rookie mistakes.

I decided to make my own cake. Awesome idea. But.......... Be careful.

I did a trial run and made two practice cakes the week before my wedding. Then the night before my wedding I made the final cake, a nice two tier chocolate and vanilla with white frosting.

The morning of my wedding I load my cake up into a nice bin. Placed level on my back seat and started to drive to Costco to pick up all the sheet cakes. Right before getting to Costco I look back and see my cake collapsed over on itself.

I'm freaking out. Don't know what to do. Then I see HEB across the street and I think to myself, maybe, just maybe they have similar cakes of different sizes I could buy and stack on each othe.

Sure enough they have one small and one large buttercream cake with identical frosting and designs. I bought them both for $25. Once I got to the reception venue I got a large spatula, scraped the small cake off its base, and placed it on the large cake. Then I topped it off with the crystal topper. Perfect. Wife was happy. Cake looked good. No one new the difference.

In all, for the HEB cakes and 4 sheet cake from Costco I spent around $120 and feed 200 people cake.

Yeah. One of my friends had a fake display cake. They took it to the back and have the guests very good sheet cake. They probably spent about that much to feed the guests. It was an awesome idea.
