Yeah I'm going for my associates in welding too. Our school includes oxyfuel welding and cutting in the course also though. Other than that they seem similar. Do y'all do all different materials also? We work on 1/16, 1/8, 1/4, and 3/8" mild steel, 1/16" stainless, and 1/8" aluminum. Also some 8" pipe

def should start your own company and while your young and single you could travel and do contracting. back in senior year of high school one of my teacher told me her friends son started off welding and now has his own welding company making six figures and doesnt even weld anymore

 

I may be looking for some round tubing elbows out of 1.75" OD .120 wall HRW. I havent 100% decided if I'm going to make coped corners or get elbows made but out of pure curiosity, if I supplied materials and shipping both ways, how much would it cost me to have 18 90degree elbows made? (I checked around and the handful of places I found want an ungodly amount of money just for labor, so much that for 18 elbows it would be cheaper for me to buy a 700$ bender and do it myself...)

 

Not sure, they are starting to use more interns these days but idk about straight-up part timers...

 

The weather here is shitty. Same there?
