Last time I had to go I went and saw people who checked in and then left. Found out they had requested to serve in courts close to their home(can't remember what its called exactly since it's been years). I did the same and they sent me to League City the next day. I was there about 45 minutes and then the case was dismissed because the guy decided to settle. Probably partially because he was talking to all the jurors in the hallway before his lawyer found him and freaked out. I would probably do it again since they assign you to simple one day cases and then you're done.

Mine took 2 days of the actual trial, 3 days including jury selection. Dude evaded police for about 4 minutes cuz they were smoking pot or fake... I don't recall. cop tried to pull em over on 288 for obstructed licence plate. cops had it all on video, dude kept acting like he was pulling over with his signal and then would speed up again, ran a stop sign on the feeder before stopping at a car dealership. I can't believe they even took it to trial. we delivered the guilty verdict and before the sentencing dude took the plea deal.

I've been called in a few times but the only time I got selected, the defendant plead guilty just as the trial was starting

When I was taking Government in college our class took a trip to the court house. My group got to sit in on a Murder trial. When the Defendant was escorted in he looked really familiar to me. They announced his name and then I realized he was my high school classmate. Crazy.

He shot another guy in a case of road rage. Such a same.
