We are going to his work so it's not me driving there from home. I ate a banana since my previous comment and it took the edge off but I might still come get some food. My family wants to get together at the winery later though so maybe I should save some calories for the wine.

Lol. All I know is that you take snapchats while sitting on the toilet at work. :D

I will admit there are bad engineers out there. There are also bad project managers, bad clients, bad vendors, and all around chaotic projects.

I am fortunate enough to have started my career as a contractor. I use that experience to make myself a better engineer.

I see this problem everywhere. That sad part is that some young female engineers are put in there position because they are female but yet they don't have the experience and or almost flunked out of engineering school.

Here's a good one. Last month I was at a vendor site with my client and we were checking out a very large air dryer skid package. Most of the manual valves were mounted with the handles about 8 feet above the platform.

There's the typical response from an engineer

It's just funny tho. Like yea everybody makes mistakes or slips up every once in a while. That I understand. But you mention engineer and it seems like everyone who does the manual labor(like I'm doing) thinks engineers are the dumbest people on site.

But engineers(if they are good at their job and do it right) have to take in to account for so many variables and scenarios before making a decision. They gotta know so many little stuff from safety factors to how different alloys react to each other and blah blah blah.

Then like you said... Engineers get paid to use their brain, not their back.

Idk.. Im kinda thinking about working a few more years doing what I'm doing and then look into going to school for engineering. Seems pretty fun actually in the mentally challenging aspect.
