by the time it hits MSM the sound bites have been selected and the agenda is in motion. I want to listen for myself and make my own conclusions. it isnt always easy to make the time to do it, but i think its important.

This is the part that is becoming increasingly difficult because it is hard to find "unfiltered" news sources.

 

^^^^ Exactly, for news and events that have already happened, there is no "unfiltered", it is all produced, edited, and slanted is some aspect. Only way to try to help with this, IMHO, is to go to several sources that "slant" in a different way.

 

Exactly. To get a good read you generally have to read the same article from 3-4 different sources and then there will always still be things you didn't get.

 

watch/listen to the entire thing while it happens. or reread a transcript of the entire event later (most dont know this, but often these things are dictated for posterity). The only true source is the initial source, while it happened. Only unfortunate part that i am seeing is there is a bit of grandstanding occurring at this hearing... Lifetime politicians need to become a dying breed (and not just due to natural causes) due to TERM LIMITS. Sheesh the avg age on this committee must be like 60+
