Cypress is wierd like that. I used to live out there. Houston address but considered “Cypress”

Does Cypress have a Mayor, City Hall, court house?

I live in Missouri City now and enjoy having a Mayor and City Hall meeting to attend and voice my opinions too. Our council members even show up regularly to our HOA meetings.

Nope, the woodlands is not a city. The original charter for the woodlands stated that once the population reach certain level the City of Houston would annex the woodlands. Recently, a couple or five years ago some of the woodlands folks found out they were going to become Houston and freaked out. Houston has now said they will not annex the woodlands. Conroe may annex the woodlands but Houston won't. To keep from being annexed the woodlands will have to become a town or city but for now they are not.

Maybe we can get Harris County to take over the woodlands and let us get rid of it?

To clear up the flag information. . .

Stars and Bars was the first Confederate Flag.
    510px-Flag_of_the_Confederate_States_of_America_(1861–1863).svg.jpg

The 2nd Navy Jack which was also adopted as one of the Battle Flags.

    1280px-Naval_jack_of_the_Confederate_States_of_America_(1863-1865).svg.jpg

There were multiple flags used by various units of the Confederate Armies. The Navy Jack and the Battle Flag are often mistakenly called the Stars and Bars.

That I was told no and we can not vote for Houston mayor and stuff like that. Just at the state level. Not sure if that is true. I guess we will find out on Election Day. I still have a Vegas ID Texas has been a pain to get it done. Going when I get back from Vegas in a couple weeks. Didn’t want to fly with a paper id

Aside from motorcycle / powersports stores? Really?

As painful as they are, I'll take the property taxes over California's prohibitive cost of living. Had a job offer in California that offered a higher annual salary than what I earn here. However, after taxes, cost of living, etc. taken into account, I would experience a 50% decrease and buying power from my original salary here in Texas.

Texas has no shortage of things to complain about, but the economy, combined with certain regulations put into place after the economic booms & busts of the late 70's and early-to-mid 80's, has strengthened the viability of living well in this state. Comparatively speaking, the cost of living is low. Texas is also attractive to anyone working in energy, manufacturing (somewhat), healthcare, aerospace, and cyber because the state's economy is more or less stable based in part to the stability of the aforementioned industries.

Unfortunately, as other states are basically becoming too expensive for anyone below an upper middle class economic background, more and more people are flocking to Texas. That sudden influx of people, who may have been middle/lower middle class in a more expensive state but who are upper-middle class compared to Texas residents, forces an artificial and exponential increase in our local cost of living. Wage increase is either non-existent or is otherwise insufficient to keep up with inflation and the increase of cost of living. Thus, "native" Texans are suffering.

As a consequence, as other states are basically forcing anyone from a middle-class economic background and lower out of that state, those people are coming to Texas and thus are forcing an artificial increase in cost of living that's much higher than normal. It's a sign of economic imbalance that will cause our country a hell of a lot of problems and cripple us in the long run.

Learn as many languages as you can. It'll never hurt and always benefit you.

Yessir! Much easier to say "I'm from Houston" than to say "I'm from _________, a town on the southeast side of Houston". Any divide between municipalities is no longer physical but now an arbitrary and imaginary line marked by random road signs.

    You're in MoCity now??

"Stars and Bars" refers to the flag of the Confederacy.

    @CarmenSanDiego

    The flag of traitors.

Once upon a time many many years ago, I dated a girl who had to replace her out of state ID with a Texas one. I remember it being pretty seamless as long as all the paperwork was in hand.

If you have questions about how to register to vote, head to your local tax assessor's office or courthouse and they'll help you. Additionally, when you change your address and sign up for mail forwarding with USPS, you can opt to have your voter registration updated. You'll receive a new voter's registration card in the mail within weeks; just fill it out or make sure all the information is correct and mail it.

Yes sir. Bought a house in Missouri City last year.
I get to enjoy it about 8 days a month since I’m working in Lake Charles.

There is this guy on YouTube that speaks over 7 different languages. Well so far that I know. 4 different Asian languages, Russian, Spanish, and a few more. He records himself surprising strangers by talking to them in their own language. Pretty cool

Yeah, it’s a pain. Took my 3 or 4 times to finally get it. Seems like depending who the hell you get, the paperwork requirements differed.

Ya I have had the same birth certificate when I got my ID in Cali and Nevada but here they would not take it. Said it was not official because it was missing some seal on it. My luck the city I was born in in Cali still does things like 1995 so I had to summit a request to get one. It said they can deny it and if they did I would have to go there in person to get one. I got lucky and they sent me my paper work.

Lol when you go the first time. You're suppose to ask if there is anything else you are missing or needed. So the return time should be easier. Sucka!
