and oh yeah, while your at it, check out "no-knock" raids. thats some BS. I would probably also try to shoot someone breaking into my home, not knowing who it was trying to come into my residence.

I began volunteering at my first fire department nearly 20 years ago, so I truly hate to say this is really damaged my trust and support for LE as a whole, and I've even lost people I thought were friends inside HPD. And that rat-faced punk Joe Gamaldi's tantrum on TV about social media whining, and that people who do are "on a list" really boiled my piss. The few friends I still have in LE in Harris county all agree this was some Training Day level of bullshit from Goines that had been going on for decades. I hope this guy never gets to enjoy a single penny of his retirement while he spends the last ambulatory years of his life mulling around a TDCJ facility.

the worst part to me is people knew, and covered for him, FOR YEARS, and they ust covered because he was one of them. thats the problem. Recognize behavior when its right, call it out when its wrong, but just because someone is a cop (or any other occupation) does not mean their behavior is always right.

Sidenote: cops are notorious for being spouse abusers and getting away with it forever and ever and ever simply because often the responding officers know the abuser and cover for them because they are "one of them" and the victim is not. Reports go missing or are never put in, and evidence is not collected, its Fd up.

Trust me I know. My best friend from fire academy is a fire inspector for one of the surrounding counties, after 7 years of patrol police work between two cities in the metro area. He was so disgusted by what he saw, what he experienced, and what he was told to do that he left for a fire marshal's office as soon as he got his degree. The things he's told me make me sick, and what I've seen friends become and how they behave after getting a badge are deplorable. The "us vs. them" mentality is disgusting. I didn't want to get into a cop-bashing fest, but this case acknowledges there are some serious, egregious problems out there.

And THIS is exactly why lots of us do not believe in giving up guns and just trusting the cops to protect us. They’re human just like us and are capable of being manipulated and led by emotions like us.

If someone busted in my house and came in guns blazing and shot my dog, I guarantee I would shoot.

I support the Blue but we can’t just let them get away with anything. They need to be held to extremely high standards and accountable for their choices.

I think cops do a (mostly) thankless job, i just think many of them forget they are peace officers, not just badged government henchmen with guns. Im not trying to bash cops either, I just cannot understand how this shit is acceptable to them, just because they wear a badge and carry a gun. There is a lack of integrity that is sickening, and people have lost lives, and will continue to, and those who speak up and out are silenced by "well you just don't appreciate police officers, they have to risk their lives everyday, youre so entitled blah blah"... instead of "yeah that was wrong, they should be punished to set an example"

I think my rant was having seen too many back the blue flags around, not that their is anything wrong with backing the blue, but backing the blue without any scrutiny or oversight when things are done incorrectly is just wrong.

Watching the Houston police chief give a speech right now. Not a fan of him at all. He is giving off that “I don’t have time for y’all” vibes big time and blowing off questions.

And now you know the true meaning of the thin blue line. And I can say this with confidence because I'm educated in the subject (SHSU CJ graduate and police.academy and TCOLE), before anyone gets butthurt. I always thought it was.funny how these thin blue line flags got popular.and probably no one knew what they really stood for.
