@TheCowWatcher did you get your AC fixed? Ours went out last weekend and it was the capacitor. We just called the home warranty company and they picked someone to send out but the guy was from Fall AC and Heat and was extremely professional and pleasant. Your AC might also have an issue right now from the random power outages and lightning strikes lately. I came home Thursday and my power was off and when they got it back on we had issues with the garage door opener, lights in the garage and our oven is partially fried.

Yeah the lightning hit about an 80ft pine tree in my neighbors yard directly next to the power line which I'm assuming is why they kept turning off the power all week as they fixed places it was fried. They still haven't cut the damn tree down though and it's leaning like a mf'er. I'm glad you got it sorted out!

 

Wow that condenser must be at least 20 years old.

 

Ours is about 18 and after the capacitor replacement it's running better than it has since we bought the house!
