I need help straightening my cross member so I can install my transmission skid and transfer case skid.

Also I need help installing at least one CV.

 

Keep the crossmember on the truck. Tie a heavy duty rope to it and the other end to a tree.

Hope you have a rosebud and a large bottle of acetylene. Also, keep in mind that once you heat and start bending metal "work softening" comes into play.

 

I dont have any of that stuff. Alex had mentioned to me that after it may need to be reinforced. I need to find someone who can help a brother out

 

Not sure where it's bent, but might want to stop by a machine shop and see if they have a press that could straighten it out. That way no heat.

 

Now I get it, you can't unbolt it to replace or bend it.

Yikes, personally, I would take Dennis' advise and see if you can't find a junker and cut it off, then get a shop to weld it on. That looks like very little metal supporting that and if you soften it, it's a bad time waiting to happen, since you want to do some off-roading.

Go find a body shop with a frame puller. Shouldn't cost to much. Maybe a few hundred bucks?

 

What could go wrong? Why cant he leave the transmission in the middle of the trail?
