Y’all with a scooter, and by scooter I mean motorcycle, does the inspection have to be at a scooter specific spot or do all inspection places count? :notsure:

Should be all, since all they do is the basic safety checks,,, lights, signals, horn, tires, no plug in. Over here, I just ride it into their garage, they ask to flip the lights, signals and horn, then write it up. Quite the waste of time.

@Oatwillie I would try Duggy's Garage... they work on Toyota's and outfit/mod a bunch for overland and offroad type use. They could definitely help you out.

You mean you’ve heard stories that’s what they do right? Since you haven’t ever had one “actually” inspected. :boink:

Any inspection place will do it.

Your choices are significantly narrowed if you have something wrong or missing from your bike and still want someone to pass it.

Anyone use the cares act to withdraw from 401k? Is it pretty simple or a pain?

This place is going to have the cheapest windshield glass in town. Call around and ask but I’ve been going here for years

It will generally depend on who manages your 401k and if it's used to buy stocks or just sitting in cash. When I've drawn money out in the past I just made a phone call to my financial people at Ameriprise and told them how much I wanted, how much to send to the IRS for taxes(I would calculate taxes based on my tax rate + 10% penalty- which the cares act negates)and they would let me know how long it would take to process the request, sell shares and get the money wired to my bank so I could plan around it.

Wouldn’t it be cheaper to take out a personal loan from a Credit Union then to withdraw from your 401k early?

Never done it so no practical advice, but just keep in mind that you cannot replace any money taken out of your 401k, once removed it’s gone for good. Other thing is to keep good records and as Kelly said, watch your taxes, you will probably end up losing 25-35% after taxes and penalty. Last is when figuring your taxes at filing time, withdrawals are a PITA to get right if you do it yourself.

Here was my take on it. I’ve been a contractor forever so never had a 401k. This year I’ve been contributing 12-15%. It’s up to $6k. I could use that $6k and pay off my f150 and get out of $500/month payments and get a cheap beater for a daily.

which would then allow me to contribute more (if I wanted). Supposed to be no penalties under the cares act if you withdraw early.

just kinda tossing around ways to save money
