engagement ring will be here tomorrow! then begins the seach for a diamond to fit it, come the weekend

 

i seent it. i wouldnt have enough for the whole thing maybe just the light cage. and it is tempting but i gotta buy gifts for others first. good find though and thanks.

Congrats! Any pictures of it? What kind of cut/setting are you going for?

i'm going to compare a number of different cuts to see what goes best with the overall look. i'm not sure what cut was originally in it though.

i may have to have new baguettes put on though, since they may be the old style, that aparently isn't used anymore. that's just information her father passed on to me though. i'll have to have a jeweler confirm that.

all i know is that the diamond that used to be in it was in the 1.75 karat ballpark.

 

If your ring comes w a matching wedding ring, make sure it'll fit/be flush with the engagement ring with the setting/prongs/diamond you choose. Just a heads up; one of the guys at work told me about his where he didn't take that into consideration (what guy does?!) and so now the fitting of his wife's rings is slightly off.

 

no matching wedding band. we'll be going to pick those out together after she gets this one, and will make sure to take that into account.

 

I didn't consider that myself till last night when the guy told me. At this rate, by the time I finally buy the ring I'll have a Ph.D in engagement rings lol
