    I have another one already in use for my 10lb co2 tank. I used rivnuts to attach it to the front wall of the bed.

    The only question is where the fire extinguisher will end up. The bike racks are probably going to keep it from being onthe front of the bed. I may try horizontal above the fender well.

    Nice. since it's only a 5 lb, you could mount it horizontally, directly to the bed rail. i think i still have a box full of bed rail hardware if you can wait until i see you next.

    i have the 10-20 lb tank holder, like what he already has in his bed

    i've found there are better ways to carry booz around when wheeling.
    i cut a hole, and used a bag from some Franzia. the bag is reusable, so i can fill it with whatever i want :D

    Yeah, I put 1000lbs on the side of the clamp to see what it would do. The deflections were 0.008 inches and below the allowable stress. The bolt holes are still giving me issues though. Still working on it.

    i'm surprised that you aren't seeing higher stress at the rear-most end of the clamp. is the model taking into account the type or hardware you are using? like if you were to use a concave washer to distribute the load better? of course not a plastic one like the picture.

    Great, now I know who to round up when the Apocalypse starts. I've always thought people were insane to run that far, especially since you could get into your truck and drive the same distance in a fraction of the time.

    I did a 10 miler in the military and swore them off from that point forward.

    aw man, the 10 mile is one of my favorite races. always ran the Army Ten Miler every fall in DC. last year i ran it, there were over 30,00 people registered :eek: finished top 800 :cool:

    I use to do the Bataan memorial death March in white sands missile range every year. 26.2 ain't bad. I have friends who run the 150 milers regularly. On friend proposed to his fiance (number 3 ranked woman distance runner in the us) and to celebrate, they RAN the rockies.

    i actualyl really enjoy marathons. though i've always ran with friends who keep the same pace i do. having someone to talk to makes it go by a lot faster. it's hard to cary on a conversation doing a 7 minute mile for 10 miles, but bump it up to an 8 minute/mile pace, and we talked the entire 26.2.

    huge respect for the hyper milers, or whatever they're called these days.

    When I was in shape that's about what I averaged but at Bataan, the beginning and end are both dirt roads or 3-5 inch deep sand.
