Houston Area Meet

is anybody else going to come out sunday morning and do a little recce with me and nightwar?

 

Paul's_TRD and Lex are both maybes. TanSR5x4 said he wanted to go.


Edit: Our weather guys at my squadron are saying 2-3 inches for Houston.... but who knows

Yea it is a long way but where I am the trails are very limited. So when and if I do get on the trails it is a few hours away either in TX or MS.

 

I am going to call this place and ask them some questions in the morning.

 

Cool I'll be tuned in let me know of any updates of info.

seriously though, i'd wait until we check it out first. the park might suck horribly.

I know this area, looks to be a cool setup but haven't been there. Doubting we'll see much rain from Don since it looks to be going in further south towards Brownsville. Mulling over making the drive. My buddy out there in Huffman has some money from his mom buying some treadclimber off us and if he's not doing anything I may just head that way and see what prerunner friendly stuff there might be out there. Trying not to think about the cleanup afterwards tho, I'm starting to hate that nowadays. If I still had the 82 it'd be on fo sho and not even clean it, lol...miss that thing still, whimper whimper. It was perfect and bulletproof for this kinda thing. Don't has the same confidence in these new ones. Y'all have fun and take lots of pics because this place could be a frequent thing if it's worth a crap due to how close it is to town. Maybe I'll see folks there.....

well I just called this place. it doesnt really sound 2x4 friendly, and she made it sound like stock 4x4's are going to have a hard time. There are no trail categories, so all the trails are mixed together.

That kinda blows. So is it a lot of mud pits with some trails leading up to them? Or is it one trail may start off easy then turned into a difficult trail?

 

not sure I didnt ask. I just asked if the trails were marked for different difficulty and she said no. Can stock 4x4s make it down the trails she said yes, but not to go into the mud pits. You can call if you have more questions. I am going exploring though come sunday

 

Yea I will give them a call to see what is going on with it out there. I wouldn't want to go into the mud pits anyways but would be nice if they did have nice trails that are marked.

Yea from what the lady said on the phone since it has been raining she wouldn't even think about bringing stock trucks out there. She said the trails are all mixed no clear markings of what is a four wheeler trail or truck one and how hard it is to go down it. Said there are deep mud pits. So not sure I will make it out there inless it is a sure thing that there will be some good trails to slightly test my truck on.

 

yeah, but it hasnt really rained that much. I wonder if she is thinking stock as like straight off the lot with street tires on it
