Dont go to General sams. I've ridden four wheelers there for years and there are ruts out there from 53" michelins that I have rolled my old bike in. The park trails are not kept up or built for trucks unless you are 5 ft off the ground. Ill watch for a time and place and may come out if I don't have any plans

Well maybe the beach idea would be better then going to general sams. I'm not looking to go mudding like that yet.

I'm down for a little Surfside or wherever you guys are good with going. Just make sure the place we're going allows vehicles on the beach.

Haha... just have to watch out for Rastafarians... I can't remember the exact location, as i was camping there with family last year. They even allowed RV's on the beach. Give me a few and i can research that and throw in an "Edit"

Matagorda has beach access out there but you have to buy a permit. Pretty sure that the shops nearby sell them. I don't really know what is out in Galveston, never really over there.

Only reason I had suggested Surfside is because its not a "Muddy Beach", theres hardly any seaweed, and they allow vehicles to roam freely. I think it would be cool to all meet up, toss a football, and have some beers or something. Just a thought... How's Matagorda?

As far as permits for vehicles, I know that mostly all beaches require permits for vehicles, and if i remember correctly Surfside's is about $15.

Ultimately, the decision on where we meet is going to have to appease everyone that wants to meet. (I don't want it to be a 4 Tacoma show) We need to roll deep....

Last I remember Matagorda's beach, a couple weeks ago, It was nice and clean, things can change though, I didn't get to play around on the vehicle acces so I am not too certain on that but from the rest I saw it was nice. Surfside would work for me though, $15 is kinda expensive but it isn't too bad I have seen worse and would take it. I agree, I might invite a couple of friends to show up too, a Ford and a Chevy to hang out, invite y'alls friends too, as said before, the more the merrier.

I'd be down for beach run but the karting?......meh. Here's the skinny on driveable beaches. You got Crystal Beach accross the ferry north of Galveston, San Luis Pass on west end of Galveston Island, at least 20 miles of empty driveable stuff between San Luis Pass and Surfside going south, Surfside itself, Bryan Beach/Quintana is driveable beach across river inlet south of Surfside & then Matagorda is farther south but is more interesting than the others IMO. Matagorda is a 9.00 beach access sticker for all year. San Luis is free but nothing much around there other than some surf fishing which can be done at any of these places. I'm sure Surfside proper has a fee but don't know what it is since I always park on Beach street to surf. Bingo's Surf Shop has breakfast tacos and plates and probably lunch stuff too. Bryan Beach/Quintana is mostly just beach and a store and is free access. I don't think there is an access fee at Crystal Beach but I'm not sure about that since I don't go there hardly ever. If you are planning on playin around in the trucks then Matagorda or San Luis Pass might be the 2 best places to do that without trouble from popo. I know Matagorda has some kayak places & trail of the muddy type behind the dunes if so inclined and truck is enabled. also state park facilities right at beach entrance............
