Also, Pr3ruunn3r, I vote for having plans set in stone the weekend before the meet. Whether it be the 16th or the weekend before. That way everyone can plan accordingly. (Where we're meeting up at, and heading to, ETC)

I can do that though :D Sorry y'all, just got back from my friend's river house. I will not be able to do anything this coming week though due to me going on a cruise. I will for sure update everything when I get back afterwards though.

Had a family outing at beach house at Gilcrest yesterday. This is the Bolivar/Gilcrest/High Island area north of Galvez accross the ferry. The area is still in process of being rebuilt after Ike wiped the slate clean. Few shots to give y'all idea about what's out there. Still think Matagorda would be more fun meet........

Nope, friend of my sister. She let us use it for the wknd. I just did day trip. It was a 280 mile round trip from my house. Did it on half a tank using AC whole way. Pretty good IMO. The 05 would have burnt at least 3/4, probably more.....

That is good. I burn about 3/4 of a tank going to San Antonio. That's about 200 miles.

just found out I'll have family in town the weekend of the 16th.

Don't change the date because of me, but if the weekend before (July 9th) works for anyone, I may be able to go.

I'm planning on going down withen the next week or 2 and take some pictures to post on this thread.

I'll also take both routes and report time/distance for those coming down on the 16th.

There may be a car wash there in Matagorda where folks could throw quarters and rinse off. Can't remeber for certain but I think so. Probably one on the way thru Bay City too if you wanted to do it on the way out.

Word. I always wash my truck and rinse the undercarriage after a day at the beach ;)
