    Plenty of time? Till you're 25? 30? 35? That's the worst fucking reasoning I've heard. Debt stays on your credit report for seven years from the first date of delinquency. A lot happens in seven years and you're probably going to need your credit to be as good as possible before then.

    I'm serious man. I make no bones about it: I royally fucked up my credit when I was young and spend the vast majority of my 20's trying to fix it. Learned a lot about debt, debt collections, and how companies do business along the way. The sum of all that is right now I have excellent credit but it certainly cost me.
