Eh..... even at the highest level. They would never compare to jl, infinity, dd, focal, and countless others. So spending money on the top of the line pioneer, would be better off buy the bottom line of these top brand manufactures

that's why i compared it to th stock cardboard speakers, and not to those brands ;)

I'm actually happy wiyth the pioneer head unit i have, but i went elsewhere for my speaker and other audio component choices

Im sure they sound "good". But to say they have the best sound? No. You have to listen to the other brands out there before saying you have a good system.

For a music producer, you should know there is better sounds beside pioneer

The head unit might be the only thing I would buy from them.

I prefer Bose and infinity. My mixing monitors are Neumann KH 310 A speakers.

Yeah, look those up. I dare you. :D

I wasn't into production as much when I was 16 so I saved a few bucks. I'm gonna get some better ones at some point, especially because I have all the amps and wiring.

It's a 4ish year old single din. built very solid, with a nice array of tuning options and other features. the new head units from them practically crumple to pieces in your hands, and i'm sure the sound wuality is of a similar nature. so while i am completely happy with the one i have, if this one went out, i would not buy the newer version.

The older ones were always better. The new ones that come out tend to be crap. Maybe a lot to do with companies merging and or selling out.
