i started drinking it way back in the day because no one else did, and i was tired of leaving a case at a friends house and coming back after an ice run or pizza run or whatever, and it being gone. so i acquired the taste for different beer so no one would drink it.

I like Kemah, particularly Molly's or Palapas/Monkey Bar, but I don't like drinking too much there since PD lurks behind every dumpster and stop sign. When I go out I usually tear up the same areas as you though. Nice and close to home.

If you're into beer go to Nobi off NASA Rd1 or Cock and Bull off NASA and close to Repsdorph in Seabrook. The beer selection and food quality at both places will make your bollocks tingle. Kemah has a new bar, Skallywags, that has a pretty decent variety of craft beer. With that being said, the one time I went there I was completely disappointed. Seating is VERY limited, the managers on duty didn't feel like doing anything but stand around and talk, and the bar staff didn't know a fucking thing about the beer. My girl wanted a cider but they were all out and the the manager basically didn't feel like doing his job and changing out the kegs. Bartender comes back and recommends Leinenkugel Summer Shandy. That's not fucking cider. I've heard similar stories from friends too, so this isn't an isolated incident. Hopefully they'll get their act together because the place has a lot of potential.

Oh Jesus, Renos? I went there religiously for about six or eight months. Realized WTF am I doing and never went back.

A friend and I were talking about going to Molly's or MB tonight, actually. Or Dempseys since he's banging a chick who works there lol

yeah, renos is.... renos. i loathe going there, but all my friends are all about staying at places where they are comfortable. 90% of the girls that go there often are fat and nasty, and it's really overpriced for being a "dive bar".

I wouldn't touch any girl there with a forty foot pole. Ugh.

I thought the beer was cheap... Have they raised the prices?

yeah, to "combat rising prices from the distributors". most of the girls there are just swapped around the dudes there like hot potatoes. one of my rules is never f**k with a girl that you meet at renos.

Maybe the hike in cost was to help fund Barry's Soul Glo perm hairstyle.

Exactly. One of the last times I was there, one of the bartenders that has just started was a girl that I knew back in high school. We started talking & catching up and it was very very clear from the onset that she was looking for a sugar daddy. I ain't that poor dumb bastard.

lol, that's true. he isn't around much and the people that replaced him as dj or whatever are ... weird. like goth weird, which brings in the goth crowd. that place USED to be fun... way back in the mid 2000s (maybe 2005-2008), but lately... i try to avoid it for any extended time or at peak hours. which one was it? there have been a bunch of new people and like 3 or 4 of them got knocked up about the same time.

and i'm trying to think. is dempseys right across from the monkey?

No, Dempseys is right near Bally's off 45. It's right next to a mattress store; it's in the same strip center as that Daquri place, the old Dollar Cinema, nutrition depot (or whatever it's called)... Really close to Cavender's

lol, yeah, there was this big paternity scare with a few of the guys. it actually cause one of the couples to get married haha. hell, one of the guys was already preparing for the kid, buying strollers and whatnot, and we finally convinced him to take a dna test. turns out it was someone else's, but he had slept with 75% or so of the girls that worked there and a handful of the girls that frequented it.

ok, yeah, i know roughly where it is. never been. outside of molly's and reno's, the only other place i've really been over there was big ben, but i didn't enjoy it there. used to go to doc's and scout, but i had a really awful metallica coverband experience there, and it ruined scout bar...

Hahahaha that just made my day. Sounds like some of the people I used to hang out with at Renos...

Big Ben's is dead thank god. Service always sucked ass and it was always a douchebag convention, so I did my best to stay away from there. Haven't been to Docs or Scout in at a minimum of six years.
