I've been to Houston a few times. Once they salted the roads because it got below freezing even though there was no precipitation in the forecast. I thought that was pretty funny.

 

And I bet there was no TP, milk or bread for a 30 mile radius to be found!

 

I think this is probably the right thing to do. Condensation in the morning can turn to black ice...

 

More like driver error.

On the other hand, those of you who live in snow country just remember..........

Most likely ice on the bridge---tough if you aren't expecting it. Those of use who live in areas where we see snow and ice we learn to expect it but im sure roadways weren't even treated when this happened

 

Just goes to show you that our trucks, regardless of the year and/or generation, are built like brick shithouses!

 

Unless you have studded tires, no vehicle and no amount of driver skill can overcome ice. Ice is brutal for any driver.

 

Yep, I've been on a patch of untreated ice before and saw it coming and coasted through it but still spun out when there was a curve and couldn't do anything about it. Managed to correct the spin and veer off to avoid oncoming traffic. Could've been much worse

 

I did similar. I spun 360 on some hidden ice once, thankfully no one else was nearby. Pucker factor was high till I got home that day, lol.
I was crawling along at 25 mph too, low speed on ice, you still slide!

 

Does that guy have rock sliders. Might see if he will sell them to me. Car looks totaled. Nevermind, short bed.... Booo... Im in Houston and that bridge is like a cliff coming dow; You could ice skate for a mile in both directions off that sucker...
