Brand new Tacoworld member, new Taco owner, and ready to push the button on ordering new wheels and tires for my 2018 3.5V6 SR5
I have borne the duty of owning the "family 4 door car" for years now, and the kids have grown up. It's time for me to get the toy I want to drive....for me.

been through the forums, and have narrowed my research, and want to go with BFG KO2 265/70/r16 Tire Rack seems easy enough, and the cost is within my budget, and i can have them mounted by them. I plan on going with less expensive rims: Granite Alloy GA1640 at 16" rim diameter

from what I understand through forums- I seem to be within my size?
I called a local tire retailer and they were trying to have me size down to 245/70/16, (citing the narrower tires will perform and ride better) Although true, I'm still going up to 265

    my questions narrowed down are:
can i use my current TPMS from my stock wheels? or must I order them?
Will the BFG KO2 265/70/r16 work on my stock suspension? (I dont mind removing mud flaps)
Any TACO gurus able to crunch this config and give me a green flag or a red flag with suggestions?

The main downside to the 16" BFG KO2 is they only come in "E rated." This is great if you need the extra sidewall strength, but it will add a bit of unsprung weight. If you went up to a 17" wheel, and you still wanted the BFG KO2, then you could get a "C rated" KO2, and the weight would be less (but a weaker tire). It all depends on what you are using it for.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I like the idea of the stiffer sidewall- plan on taking the truck light overlanding- I live in the Adirondacks and have plenty of opportunity to go off piste.
The cheaper wheelset kept my budget down so I can upgrade a few other pieces to the truck. Tonneau cover is next- Im going with the Diamondback Se

Why not go up to /75 for a bigger, badder looking tire?

You can get a visual on sizes, etc here
