did you put on any sort of rubber pad to preload the swing out to prevent vibration/ movement?

I have the same latch, but actually mounted by 4xInnovations on their swingout. It has a rubber pad and a plastic pad on a flat guide by the hinge. Not sure if asked has that, too.

The swing out kit comes with a rubber pad to minimize vibration between the latch and the pin.

We did also add a bit of preload to the arm. This is evident when the carrier is bare. With the tire and the CO2 mounted it swings level. That turned out to be awesome. Bare I push down to latch; loaded, it's level with the pin.

I also had to grind about 1/16” off of the latch for the lock pin to sit deep enough in the catch plate to actually keep the swing out locked in place.

I didn’t think about preloading the arm...that is a good piece of information to have. Just angled a couple degrees up?

Yep, doesn’t take a lot but it proved to be the difference between locking level and picking up on the gate. I think we did half a bubble on the level. Do you remember how much preload we added, Kent (@DiamondW)?
