I was looking into that mod, pretty slick way to trick the computer for 2Low. That will be useful in all kinds of places. You couldn't imagine how often I want to put my truck in 2Low to creep slower. Parking lots, backing trailers, backing up my steep ass driveway, etc etc

I know it’s pretty ingenious, I can only imagine being a MT I know it won’t benefit me as much as your setup but it’ll help out.

I’m also plan to do the yellow wire mod doesn’t apply to the OR. It allows trac to work in 4lo.

Just got a call from my defense lawyer. The FAA and the NTSB have more or less concluded their investigation. They have determined the manufacturer is at fault for the crash. The part that failed is a known issue to the manufacturer. They reviewed the video from one of my passengers and said my accident report is exactly what happened in the video, which is relieving for me. They both said hats off to me for putting it down as well as I did and they both also said that most of the time this failure kills everyone on board. According to them, I'm some kind of hero. Cool. I'll make a trophy or something.

The passengers are still sueing me and my company, claiming "negligence" which thoroughly pisses me right the fuck off. I don't fuck around with inspections, my company doesn't fuck around with maintenance, and the guys that do the maintenance don't fuck around with their work. Regardless, our lawyer says they will each walk away with $100k EACH because our insurance is more than happy to settle on $100k each than to go to trial. There is still a chance they will choose to sue me, the thought of which makes my head spin. I did everything right, but still, they can sue me. For keeping them alive. Not even joking, they didn't even bleed.

So now that I have been 100% absolved of any sin, the lawyers suggest I sue the manufacturer. "The manufacturer is aware of the problem and has done nothing to correct the issue or warn pilots of said issue". Am I an asshole for wanting my $100 grand? I'm the only one that was hurt, I went through the stress of the investigation, and I've missed out on 80% of my income for 8 weeks now. My passengers are guaranteed $100k, should I get $100k? Should I get more?

I’m at a loss for words but relived that you’re not at fault.

I have reviewed the experience over and over and over in my head. Replayed every possible scenario. I stand by my actions. There wasn't a better place to go, there wasn't anything more I could do. I have said it before, I'll say it again, I did serious magic to make that spot. I CLIMBED without engine power, I held the altitude I had and waited for the break in power lines, I dove between a gap in power lines and put it down between a moving car and a truck and made sure that no one on the ground would be involved. The utility lines I did hit were 100% unavoidable.

But still, they're going to try to sue me.

Can you seek counsel on a possible counter sue?

    I can't even think of a reason to counter-sue.

The company-issued defense lawyer is a 20 year helicopter pilot, I could not have asked for better. But, regardless, I still have to go through this bullshit.

    Yup.

Land of the free, home of the lawsuit. This is bullshit. I cannot believe they're going after my company and me. I really hope the NTSB and the FAA flexes hard with the evidence and they get jack shit.

Dayum Alex I hate that you are going through this suing crap. But that’s what has become of this generation. Want everything for free. Keep your head up and it will soon be just a distant memory.
