And the last drive shaft bolt just rounded out as soon as I hit it with the impact.

Well that sucked a little less than I was expecting it to.

Not sure if this may be contributing to your leaks, but it looks like you didn't fill in any of the holes in the clockable adapter which made me think of the post I saw awhile back. Might not hurt to verify whether or not you need to do that with some of the folks running that inchworm adapter in the crawlbox thread.

So when I first got it, I noted some set screws installed, can't really see them in the pic, here's a close-up

    0C777F0F-ED58-47F5-A046-C1E6F11B8B5F.jpg

They look too be installed in the correct places for zero clicking. I'll verify but if that's it that would be great. Thanks for pointing that out!

Yep, if you've got the screws in the right spots you should be good. Just couldn't tell from the photos. Trying to think of anything that will help!

Ana I appreciate it! The thing just leaks from every seam. I just finish lunch, I’m about to break it down now. Here’s the entire plate with the set screws. The picture is upside down and backwards from the instructions but my 1amp pea-brain thinks they’re in the right place.

I also have everyone’s favorite bearing...

    image.jpg

Wish I had known I’d be doing this today, I’d have ordered a conrad bearing for it.

Only one I am questioning whether it should be filled in is the at the 1 o'clock position in your photo. When I look at the inchworm diagram in the crawlbox thread, it looks like both of those holes are for the 15 degree clock and you only have one of them filled in. Not sure if both should be...circled in blue below.

Can't see that anything is going on that hole, I'll plug it for good measure.

    We're getting there

Having trouble separating this one from the case. There's only one tiny sliver to smack or pry and since I've never taken one of these apart I'd prefer to do it with a bit more precision than a BFH. Don't need parts flying out. This surface had almost no sealant.

That looks like 10x better than it did.

They were extra stingey with the sealant. Not that I'm going overboard or being extra liberal, just adding an appropriate amount.

Ya, it's a really simple gearbox. As annoying as it was too have to deal with it I've been having a great time out here working on it.

The crawl box is back together, I'm just hitting on a few little nit noid things then it's going back in.

Getting everything down: easy one-man job.

Getting everything back up: tricky one-man job.

But I got it all back in! Except for the shifters, exhaust, and gear oil. I figure I'll let the fresh sealant cure overnight before I add oil. Hopefully that helps. Crawl box, xfer case, driveshafts, are all back up though. For the night, I just rolled the truck out onto the driveway so I could get some sleep.

I broke the crawl box all the way down, scraped all the mating surfaces and edges with a razor blade, then scrubbed it all with steel wool. All surfaces were like glass when I used the Permatex "The Right Stuff" on it so :fingerscrossed::fingerscrossed: that shit quits leaking like it has been. I can tolerate a drip here and there but damn, no more pissing oil everywhere! I'm not going to be too excited to do this again if it continues leaking the way it has been.

Now I'm going to have a beer, a shower, and a bed.
