I'm thinking I'm going to trade the CB I have for that one.

Ha thanks and really? I have never really used CB’s before so not sure what’s good or not.

Lots of positive feedback on that one. If you're looking for top-of-the-line, talk-to-Antarctica quality there are better CB's. But for communication on the tail in a low profile unit, that one is hard to beat.

Yeah, that sounds good to me!

Now I need to get an antenna and all that stuff. I like what you did with yours is there anything else that I may need or want?

Well, if you're looking to do like I did, check out the thread. Someone linked an all-in-one kit for FJ's that should work nicely.

I've been fairly pleased with my antenna setup. The only time I've had an issue is in thick brush. It was getting bent in every direction but it held up good. I eventually removed the antenna so I could stop being paranoid about it but I'm sure it would have been fine.

When is this happening?? Please let me know when you decide to tackle this.. I am wanting to put an FJ case in my 6spd and would love to learn how to swap out the input shaft or whatever it takes to get it to mate up to our RA60F

As soon as I have the time and money. Seems like if I have one I don't have the other! I don't really have a timeline on that one, but I definitely want to do it.

Hadn't seen that before, pretty damn cool. I've put my truck in 4 low a bunch of times just to save the clutch or make moving a trailer easier. 2 low would be so stupid useful. Thanks for sharing!

Eventually I want to switch over to manual hubs as well as a manual case. I'm not a big fan of the electronic crap either. A lot of people love the idea of being able to put it in 4x4 at speeds up to 60. Quite frankly if you've made it to 60 and suddenly raise you want 4x4 you have not planned properly. I have no need for that.

Good call, i do like the ability to shift on the fly, but thats normally just because im about to race someone and want extra traction from a dig. Would be nice to be able to shift manually though. I completely understand why youd want to have manual hubs though, that seems like a good way to keep from wearing everything down while its not in use.

Lol I knew I wasn't the only only one shifting into 4WD to punch it off a red light! It's especially useful when it's been raining.

But yes, manual hubs to save the driveline from any unnecessary work, IMO is the way to go.

Lol youre not alone! I also use it in the rain as well, hard to get any traction when its wet.

You going to get the manual hub kit that 05taco4x4 sells?

Can’t say I’ve ever NEEDED it but there have been a number of times it would have been handy.
