Thanks mang! Been a lot of work. And taking a lot longer than anticipated. Hopefully I don't break it any time soon.

Ohhhh fancy! Do you know who they were with? I heard a rumour DHS is getting some cobras for some reason. I know they have Huey's but I don't know why they'd need an AH1.

Got rid the factory locker switch. It's a DPDT off/on/on switch with the first position being the rear locker and the second being the front locker. The problem I have with it is that you can only engage the lockers in 4-low and you cannot engage the front on its own.

    FAF275BF-3318-4595-9967-9DC2D8E6E015.jpg

After a bit of probing and chasing, I got it figured out. I got rid of the factory switch to replace with these safety switches.
    00B30365-8157-4D03-988F-1F3AE072E07E.jpg

That opened up a free space on the switch panel which I filled with a matching switch for the amber backlighting on the LP6's

Got the rocket launcher safety switches in

And installed a 4.8V dual USB charger in the leftover space

    E3CD2595-CF3B-4C76-A9C1-B82B6A880A00.jpg

    Here's how it looks installed

    That's the rear locker -

    Indicator dash light works!

    2D460DF6-CC4B-4999-ABA2-9190824F6B69.jpg

The way I bypassed everything allows for either locker to be engaged in 2wd, 4-high, or 4-low. I left a single safety in place so that the lockers cannot be engaged above 10mph and they will automatically disengage above 45mph. 45mph with lockers engaged: . But it's better than nothing in case I forget to disengage after a trail or something.

Good is good! I'm hoping to make it to a CnC soon, do you think you'll make it to any of the upcoming events? These new Shiners are great, I'd be happy to contribute to your fridge... If they make it home!

    Also just ordered these fenders

    76B09746-2BDF-4F7B-9485-750F6ED2C69D.jpg 929B8926-7C7A-49C5-898C-D86036CFD651.jpg

I'll have to cut about 4 inches out of my hood but they'll provide more than 5 inches clearance for the front tires. That = MOAR FLEX :muscleflexing:

I have the same front bumper and I'll color match them so that's basically what my heep is going to look like.

With 37's I'm lifting the front tire about 24" before they contact the fender. With the new fenders I should be able to lift the front tire around 36" before I got a bump stop. Fuckin stoked :D

Very Nice. I've always liked Daryl's products. Use to be a big fan of Poison Spyder until Larry sold the company to Transamerican. It's just not the same any more. But now JCR would be my top pick if I were to do a Jeep again. I love their boat side rockers.

Are you trying to gain up travel, or keep it lcg and get massive droop?

Yea, since PSC sold they've gone down hill. I had an issue with a previous product and called customer sorry and their response was "if you don't like it, send it back." So I sent all the PSC stuff I had back. I won't buy from them again.

I'm trying to keep it as low as possible with moderate up-travel and lots of droop.

Ok! Jeep is as done as I can get it, suspension-wise. I spent the day buttoning up as much as I could, brought a flatbed trailer home, and I'm loading it up in 5 hours to go get everything aligned. I only eyeballed the alignment of the axles under the frame, the shop has lasers and whatnot so I assume they'll do a better job than me. Loading is going to be a bitch and a half. The hard brake lines that were supposed to come in Wednesday did not come in on Wednesday. So the Jeep has no brakes. And my garage is at the top of a steep driveway. Soooo yeeea. I have an idea to get it loaded but it's going to take A LOT of ratchet straps and the winch. Hopefully I don't drop it:fingerscrossed:

The shop is also going to give the whole thing a good inspection just to make sure I installed everything correctly. As much as I want to install my own gears, I'll probably have them do it as well. And the new header because fuuuuuuckkkkkkk that.

Headers on the L6 are notoriously difficult. Most people that have done it recommend removing the engine. We'll see what they quote me for everything and go from there. But it's finally getting out of the garage! And it will be on the road VERY soon! And then right back in the garage for a rear main seal and crawl box install

    C'est la vie.

It was a productive day and I'm itching (no, literally, I'm really itchy!) To get back at it again in the morning.

Aside from the shock brackets and upper control arm mounts that need to get cut off/welded in, the rear is pretty much done! It looks a little busy in the picture but it's much cleaner in person. The yellow hoses are breathers, blue is air for the lockers, and red are brakes. I also had the sway bar powder coated semi-gloss "Coke can red". I dig it.
    4DBFC17C-91DA-48EB-A12F-0A8A3DAD6A2F.jpg

New headers! This is Banks Performance "Torque Tubes" tuned headers. I put a set on my XJ when the old manifold cracked right at the collector and felt a noticable difference. Since my manifold on this Jeep was rusted to shit, showing signs of cracking, and I was pulling the fenders off anyway, I ordered a set. I wrapped them up good and tight (which is why I'm so itchy) with titanium fiberglass heat wrap. That should make a nice difference with intake temps and it looks kinda sexy. I also just happened to have 1.5 full rolls chilling in my garage and I love wrapping headers.
    EF1F0219-8C3C-49A2-AA6D-6D57D49E1AD6.jpg

From what I've read, the hi-line fenders are going to interfere with the factory intake so I picked up Banks' ram air intake while I was at it. The Banks intake also has some of the better filtration for the aftermarket and the highest flow-rates.
    2E3F1273-B011-4E7B-BDB6-F948B0C174C9.jpg

I swapped out the old single-hole, 4lb(iirc) fuel injectors (top) for some 12-hole, 24lb injectors. The 4-hole mustang 5.0 injectors made a world of difference on my XJ so I'm eager to see how these perform.
    773E7EE9-139D-421F-8DCC-0B1DA15EF704.jpg

    I pulled the fender off...
    EFDDB8A7-DF02-4DE4-8124-3FA5F33365D8.jpg

    Pulled the intake manifold...

To get to the exhaust manifold...
    FEF3CD19-DB0A-4452-88B5-D06024427653.jpg

So I could remove it. Extra steps? You know it. Headaches? Zero!
    A537A0B1-72FC-4931-A051-7F7655AED8AD.jpg

While I was at it, I replaced the motor mounts with some Brown Dog ultra-flex rubber mounts. These should minimize vibration for a smoooooth ride. Though, with the performance parts, I'm kinda wishing I'd picked up the poly mounts. Eh. Whatever. Smooth is smooth and I like smooth.

I COULD. NOT. believe how far off the old mounts were from where they're supposed to be. It's several inches (INCHES!!) higher! Sitting straight and level in the center of the engine compartment again. The whole engine (and trans and transfer case) moved about an inch and a half toward the passenger side. UNREAL.

I scrubbed and scrubbed and scrubbed the block then hit it with some rust converting primer.
    C195E3D2-F0B7-4002-8DDC-D44A50983951.jpg

Then a couple coats of high-temp ceramic to make it all look good again.
    C4C3B35D-E0D9-46A7-9892-F34AC9251F18.jpg

I also started polishing the intake manifold
    119232E3-B46B-4136-A989-3E268CE64917.jpg
I'll need to go to the store for more wire wheels for the Dremel. That was the only one I had left and I'm currently about 70% done. I'll pick up some aluminum polish while I'm out tomorrow to really make that thing pop when I get done cleaning it up.

Hopefully tomorrow afternoon I'll be able to start the reassembly process and hear it running again before I get bogged down at work over the weekend.

There's still a ton of parts on the way, too :D

Edit: corrected some spelling and wording. Freakin predictive text changes words on me all the time.
