Been doing good man, nothing exciting in my end, regular work and family/kid duties. Everyone is good and healthy which is the most important thing.
    That's awesome man, congratulations :fistbump:

Sounds good! I will let you drive one of the Mustangs in return.

Congrats on the new ride! Did you have to order it or were you able to just pick it up?

    Deal!

    Thank you :D

I spoke with a friend that works at a dealership and he said the odds of Toyota delivering a standard Tacoma to this part of the US with the current supply problems is basically zero. He suggested ordering one from the Pacific Northwest but the dealerships will for certain put a dealer markup on it simply because they can. So, I got on the webernet to see what I could see. I found a manual I liked that happened to be here in San Antonio and went for a test drive. I loved it and was just about to buy it when I decided to do one last sweep of the internet before committing. I found one in KCMO for a few grand less in price, with 1/3 the miles (~10k), a moon roof, leather interior, and it was a TRD O/R vs an SR 4x4. So I ordered it! I'm hoping it comes in before the 4th when I head back to Louisiana for work.

Nice!!! That’s talk about luck! How does it compare to the 2nd Gen manuals?

The RC62F 6spd felt much better than how I remember the RA60F. Shift pattern was tighter, not quite a full-on short-throw shifter, but not at all like the tractor shifter in the second gen. It didn't feel sloppy between gears and the gear ratios felt a lot better all around. The engine also didn't feel sluggish when I went to accelerate in a higher gear. Downshifting to pass was smooth and the truck pulled well.

I had to do some google-fu to make sure I wasn't imagining things

    Second Gen RA60F Gear Ratios
    1. 4.171:1
    2. 2.190:1
    3. 1.488:1
    4. 1.193:1
    5. 1.000:1
    6. 0.849:1
    Third Gen RC62F Gear Ratios
    1. 3.982:1
    2. 2.017:1
    3. 1.321:1
    4. 1.00:1
    5. 0.848:1
    6. 0.713:1
The gear ratios are a lot closer together and it's got a double overdrive, that's pretty cool.

That’s good to hear they made it better, what do you mean by a double overdrive?

Both 5th and 6th gears are less than 1:1

    Thanks!

I was surprised to see as many as I did! The one I test drove in SA before I find the one I bought was a cement 6spd. If you're looking for one, CarMax had a bunch available if you're willing to ship one.

The mod bug is starting to chew on my brain with this new truck. Ordered a few things, nothing crazy (yet), but I caught myself shopping some big-ticket items and making a list of things to come. The truck just hit 14k miles and one of the questions I working out was where to put the bed when I take it off to cut out and replace the rear shock towers :bananadead:

Good luck, I have heard a lot of items still have long lead times.

@Oldie2007 wants me to do portals but we came to an agreement. I will build the world's first triple crawl boxed 2,726:1 reduction Tacoma, officially claiming the title of the world's slowest from Big Mike himself and he will buy all the beer I can drink for a year.

There's two catches to this proposal.
    1) Kurt keeps the beer in his fridge.
    2) I'm offshore 6 months a year so I actually get 2 years of beer! Thanks, Kurt!

Obviously there's going to be a lot of liquid confidence inspired ingenuity in this project so stayed tuned for more :cookiemonster:
