I need to go look at these engines. I have never timed the pump or set injectors. Hell done any work on a Merc diesel.

That's the plan! Couldn't say when exactly but I'm set on making it happen.

Same here, going to be a hell of a learning process.

Oh for sure! I'm not about to rip apart my truck planning on anything less than 100% success. It's a heart transplant: it works or the patient dies.

Im confident we are gonna be able to knock it out. Do you have a garage to work in while we have everything torn apart?

i can bring a tranny jack, jack stands, and other goodies if we need them. My tools are your tools

    Thanks! It's much appreciated :D

That'd be handy. I'm thinking I'll keep the engine in my garage so I can tinker with it whenever I can until it's ready to install. When the swap is ready to go down, move the engine, my second toolbox, and anything else I might use to the hangar at work until it's done. If the boss man approves.

I'd been planning on doing the FJ case later on down the road because I thought the cases were pricey and the procedure slightly complex. Well I got sucked into the show us your FJ case thread and saw that someone mentioned it's the best mod under $500. Did some more reading... It is literally plug and play*.

So I'm buying a case and some twin sticks. Goal is to get this done before Jambo.

    :fingerscrossed:

    * ok, not literally. But it is very simple.

    I definitely will!

    I found one on fleaBay...

    https://www.ebay.com/ulk/itm/132842579707

... for a reasonable price. I'll skip some cash into my account this weekend and get it Sunday/Monday. I'm planning on adding Front Range's twin sticks too.

Hey you want an xfer case?

Thats cheap! 255 and free shipping is a good deal.

Lol if you dont need it ill take it off your hands, never know what could happen with mine with the power im putting through it. Might not be bad to have a spare

Are the twin sticks so you can have 4wd and 2wd high and low? Not too familiar with that setup, havent read much into it

Haha unfortunately I can't afford to give it away. I was thinking about keeping it intact and putting it on eBay to get some money back from the FJ case.

Yea the twin sticks do high/low in 2wd and in 4wd.

    I just imagined your 4xrunner in 4low lol, I bet that's insane

Thats a better plan! I dont need it lol, and want to get rid of mine too.. i know im gonna want to after seeing your setup! gonna be sick. Wonder what the going rate for one of those is

What other mods do you have to do to set it up for this?

I crawl around right now in 4 low when i park at work since i took out my front driveshaft. Really want to keep the 2low after being able to back up slowly, i love it. It really crawls with the 4.10s in low haha
