The incorrect case made it back to the seller and the correct case shipped out today. Sticks should be in tomorrow I think

Yep! They sent pictures to me so I could verify it's correct. Then the guy I've been working with contacted the company that put together the database so they could update and correct it nationwide. I thought that was pretty damn cool.

Twernt nothin my dude. Anything for my friends. I'm happy to help whenever, however I can.

I'll keep an eye peeled for one. Manual FJ's are pretty rare.

    Maybe :p

Your shifter stuff is freaking awesome, I will have you know! And you are f'ing meticulous, so don't come up here for wiring help. You can drink beer and supervise.

I appreciate it! I wonder what other options there are for that.. do you know how the tcase shifter comes thru the floor in an auto fj?

In an auto the T-Case shifter comes through forward and on the passenger side. The gear select is much further to the rear than the manuals.

On FJ's with a manual transmission, the shifter is farther forward and the T-Case shifter and the transmission shifter share a boot. Personally, I really like this look and think it would be dead fucking sexy in a taco.

The issue with that boot is going to be the lower left corner. It's angled. If it were square, I don't see why it couldn't be jimmied into place on a manual taco. But that angled cutout for the parking brake is going to cause problems. It'll have to be customized.

Well thank you, sir! Indeed I am meticulous. I've said it before, it's a blessing and a curse.

Not only will I be more than happy to drink beer and supervise, I will be more than happy to assist any electrical project. I'm a hobby electrician at best but I've learned from a lot of mistakes.

OK, if I actually convince the wife to have a pool thing for strangers, you can bring any damn project you want! I really have to work hard to make stuff look as good as yours, although I get a lot of credit, mine is not as clean!:bowdown::bowdown:

I appreciate the compliments but when you see my junk in person it's not that impressive. Maybe I'm just good at taking pictures or something :p

Didn't mean you were strange - well you are, but so am I - meant wife has yet to meet any of my TTC friends in person! Working on that. She could care less about truck parading around, might as well be football to her.
But I know you have a lovely wife, as do my other friends. So, that's what I meant by strangers... there are no more strangers around a body of water with some adult beverages!

Gotcha, yeah i wanted to use the fj boot for the manual trans and make it where my shifter and tcase share a boot. Would definitely look good, but the problem like you said is that corner. I think thats just formed into the wire though. So if i remove that and sew in the taco one it should work. Heres a guy that converted his to awd and used that boot. It convinced me to do mine like that.

Oh jeeez, hope I didn't piss you off. Your work makes me happy looking at it. I was a QC Manager for 10+ years. It's so hard to find people that put details into what they need to get done. I had a great program at work, management hated it, but I reduced defects from a 90% TEMP work force nearly 90% in a year, and they kept it up. I gave them rewards. Management hated that too...

Lol I know I'm weird, I'm good with it. Hell most people are. My wife is the same way, she doesn't mind the trail rides though. True! We'll have to get together sometime, maybe do some fishing too :D

Oh ya, no doubts it's work, just gonna take some minor tweaking. That little angled corner ain't gonna stop ya!

I'd seen that shifter and not before but I didn't realize he'd converted to AWD. I'll have to creep his build some. I had secret hope we'd be blazing a new trail switching the 4xRunner over to AWD. Oh well, it'll still be really cool if you do go that route!

I think I misread, did you mean like through the tub?

Not at all! I've got a very long fuse and rhino skin, you're good! It's the little details that make the big difference. I was always taught your work is a representation of you. You should always be able to take pride in the things you do. And if you're going to do something you should do it right. My dad's a hell of a mechanic. I've learned a lot working with him for years in his shop.

His toys are just a hair faster than our tacos though

Maybe that's why I like to Frankenstein my truck o_O

Definitely gonna pass on that knob as well lol, not my style

We shall see, i hope it isnt too much work, should turn out nice though in the end :fingerscrossed:

Definitely do, he has a nice build, guy knows what he's doing.

Man as much as i want to, i just didnt feel like fooling with the driveshafts right now, but i still wanted some of that FJ case goodness. :D

Eventually it's 100% gonna be AWD, and since im deleting the ADD during this, im one step closer in that direction. This will just hold me over till then
