Anyway. Here's some daylight snorkel pics as promised.

I think I'll add a bead of black silicon sealant around the front and top to close the tiny gap.

Here's the gap. That little scratch was my little fuck-up.

Fingers crossed. Hoping my friend in the BP has the pull he says he does. I'll find out around August. Until then, still waiting on the army and I'll call the state troopers later today to see what they say.

@MattCowsmasher - got on the gas earlier to pass a slow poke and ya, there's a bit more get up and go! Third gear, 2000 RPM's, 40 MPH, got on it and she started to sprint with a purpose! Pleasantly surprised, played with it a bit more on the way home and it certainly feels more responsive. Interested to see what the fuel economy does, just topped off this afternoon.

    Same place, same filter.

Same everything under the hood actually, you just shove the factory pick up into a rubber snood and it goes onto the snorkel inside the fender.

The hardest part, unless you're all emotional about cutting sheet metal, is getting the rubber snood over the snorkel and into the intake pick-up. I came up with an easy trick I'll be happy to share if you're looking to get one.

    Meeeeeeeee tooooooo.....

    Tired of this look already.

    image.jpg

Needs some sanding, at least two more coats of black, and a couple coats of clear. Hopefully it'll dry out some so I can get this thing done. I'm tired of dealing with it already.

Sound is about the same, can't hear a difference in the road at all.

4" hole saw makes it easy. This snorkel install was a breeze compared to my XJ. The template was a bit off but it doesn't look bad, it's barely noticeable.

Ya man, tired of sanding. I got no finger prints on my right hand now!

    Yeah a bit, it's not a huge difference but it's a difference

You know last time I did it, I got it done in an afternoon. This is getting ridiculous. Humidity should be low today and the temp will be warm. I'm getting it done today.

That headlight though. Time for projectors?

I realized this morning that there is a paint booth in one of the maintenance hangars. Gonna get this thing done today...
