No not yet, looking for a car with the right engine. It has to be a combination of good engine, crappy car, good price.

I think so. It will be close though. I had an old double pod one but I’ll be damned if I know what I did with it. I doubt it would work with a mirror riser though.

What gauges are you thinking about running?

I was considering adding speedhut AFR, oil pressure, and maybe a gauge size remote for a valentine one.

That would be an awesome option if it fits above the mirror!

I was considering that as well until i noticed it was round like my gauges. It seems wrong not to use that space lol

Thats good to hear, does sound like the needle bearing. Does it go away in 4wd?

Thats really strange that it is running good but there is still metal shavings in the oil.. You still planning on taking it to toyota at some point before 100K?

I was messing with 4wd earlier and before it engaged, I took the video I posted a minute ago. Ill play with it a bit more and see what I can get out of it. I'm leaning towards needle bearing. How long do you think I can get away with driving like that? I'm ordering the bushing but I don't know if it will get here and I can get it installed and road tested before Jambo.

It's at 940xx, I'm planning on taking it in at 95k to see what they say. Or whatever the truck has after Jambo.

That'll be nice. Didn't know the Valentine One had a remote. I've only ever seen it in videos though. You thinking analog or digital? I still can't get over our trucks running 4psi for oil pressure... I'm looking for a digital oil pressure gauge after reading that.

I cant say for sure as i've never heard the groan that the needle bearing makes, but i am thinking that's more than likely what it is. If you can somehow replicate the noise (i think most needle bearing issues are groaning noises/vibrations around 40 mph) and then engage 4high and see if it goes away, that would be the best way to try and isolate the problem. Is it just an intermittent noise? I did watch your video and it doesnt sound good, but i wouldnt worry about taking it to Jambo if it was me. There are lots of folks who drive for a very long time after lifting their trucks with needle bearing issues and dont have failures. I've only heard of a couple failures myself

Makes me want one too.. I want to keep an eye on that, my dipstick is stupid, it always tells me the truck is full, but its about a qt low when i drain it for the oil change. I know there is about half a quart in the filter, but i like to keep it on the money since i drive the hell out of it

Good to know! It drones and groans above 40. Interestingly, high speed corners to the right that compress the suspension makes it stop completely. Didn't realize how loud it had gotten until I did 281 by the zoo the other day at 65 and it got real quiet in the truck lol

High speed corners when you are turning the wheel to the right it stops? If so, it could very possibly be the passenger front wheel bearing.

Basically as you turn right, you are taking a lot of load off of the passenger bearing (that force is transferred to the driver side via body roll) and so that causes the bearing to go quiet temporarily because it no longer has a large load on it. My truck did the same thing when the front wheel bearing was bad. Sounds like you're having a similar problem. Id expect needle bearing issues to be much more consistent

Im fairly confident you have a bad front wheel bearing

lol that's funny, I always trust the dipstick. Between the pump, all the lines, and the filter, you've definitely got a half a quart at least.

Lol both the dipsticks on my trucks suck. I have gotten to where if there is 3-5k i just change the oil and keep plugging along

See, I figured the body roll was lifting the axle shaft enough to relieve some of the stress on the needle bearing. I wish I could hear better. Trying to pinpoint noises and sounds feels a bit like asking a deaf person to tune a piano in a steel mill.

Probably going digital in amber so everything matches somewhat. This is the remote.
